Episode 105. Eleanor Frith: Stories from the Psych Ward

In this episode, we're joined by Eleanor Frith. Eleanor is a teacher, podcaster and suicide survivor. After suffering a work-related breakdown, Eleanor became suicidal and made an attempt on her life in the autumn of 2019. She was admitted onto a psychiatric ward and spent three months recovering from acute atypical depression. After being discharged from hospital, Eleanor decided to share her story on a podcast to promote mental health experiences within a psychiatric setting in order to dispel myths, stigma and misconceptions surrounding mental health. Unlike stories, Eleanor's experiences are yet to be concluded.

In this episode, we explore:

  • life on a psychiatric ward

  • suicidal feelings

  • mental health stigma

and loads more.
